NURSERY
KOMPASS Nursery’s philosophy is rooted in Emmi Pikler’s theories, enhanced by carefully selected elements from Maria Montessori and Reggio Emilia. We believe that all children are competent, confident learners from birth, naturally curious, and best engaged through self-initiated play, exploration, and meaningful interactions.
KINDERGARTEN
KOMPASS Kindergarten follows the concept of an open, interactive learning environment. This approach allows children to freely explore and utilize all indoor and outdoor facilities throughout the day, with the exception of designated times for meals, nest group circles, language circles, and +4 project activities.
SCHOOL
KOMPASS students learn through the thematic transdisciplinary approach of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) from the International Curriculum Association (ICA). Smaller class sizes enable teachers to foster inquiry, curiosity, and exploration.
ABOUT LEARNING
Children are natural learners. Their brain structures are ideal for learning and their natural curiosity is the basis for growing creativity and a life-long passion for learning. Teachers must know the children and what they are currently interested in to utilize this curiosity and to build on it. Once the child’s mind is open for a particular topic, they can successfully connect the information themselves, and learning becomes sustainable.
Our Approach
The KOMPASS system is child-centered, hands-on and inquiry-based. Real learning for children of all ages happens while exploring and experiencing from collecting, analyzing and synthesizing information. Children’s learning is, therefore, process-oriented rather than product-oriented. We give children the opportunity to recognize and follow their own interests and develop their own individual voices.
IMAGE OF THE CHILD
We believe that every child is a competent and confident learner from birth, driven by their natural curiosity. Through self-initiated play, children explore and develop essential skills like creativity and critical thinking.
By empowering them to guide their own learning, we foster a sense of ownership and confidence. We celebrate each child’s individuality, listening to their unique perspectives and creating a safe environment for self-expression.
Our commitment is to support and inspire children on their learning journeys, nurturing their growth and helping them become capable, confident learners ready to embrace the world.

School Without Walls
The “School Without Walls” philosophy embodies a commitment to real-world learning and student empowerment. This innovative approach breaks free from traditional classroom confines, creating an environment where students actively engage with their communities and the world around them. By prioritizing experiential learning, collaboration, and critical thinking, we equip students to become active, informed, and responsible global citizens. Join us in redefining education and unlocking the full potential of every learner.
Our School Curriculum
Our BEST ME FOR A BETTER WORLD belief is fundamental to learning at KOMPASS. The KOMPASS School curriculum is developed to make learning relevant, connected, rigorous and enjoyable for our students as they progress within and beyond our school, to discover their best selves with the aim of making the world they live in a better place.
National Benchmarks
We also benchmark our learning through national standards, ensuring compliance with selected elements of the US Common Core Standards (NYS P-12), the Bildungsplan der Grundschule (Germany, Baden-Württemberg), and the Egyptian National Curriculum.
IPC and IMYC
KOMPASS students learn through the thematic transdisciplinary approach of the IPC (International Primary Curriculum) and IMYC (International Middle Years Curriculum), developed by the ICA (International Curriculum Association). This child-centered approach empowers students to explore relevant themes that enhance critical thinking, problem-solving, subject knowledge, and creativity. It incorporates the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of 2030 and is grounded in evidence-based brain science. The IPC and IMYC are internationally recognized and aligned with major educational frameworks, including the US Common Core and the International Baccalaureate (IB). Designed to be rigorous and learner-centered, the curriculum prepares students for a smooth transition to the IB Diploma Program in high school, equipping them with essential skills for future success.
TRILINGUALISM
At KOMPASS, children are immersed in German, English, and Arabic. Young minds naturally absorb language, making it essential for them to listen to and imitate their mother tongue. Early exposure to additional languages fosters the formation of neural connections in the brain, enhancing skills in their first language as well.
Introducing a second, third, or even fourth language at an early age allows children to learn these languages effortlessly, making them more intuitive than if learned later. This early multilingual experience also facilitates the acquisition of future languages and strengthens cognitive skills that benefit overall learning.
